Our mission statement in summary:
RESOURCING GOD’S PEOPLE
Christian literature has a crucial ministry. Through it, people who do not know God can be presented with the claims of Jesus Christ, and Christians can be encouraged in their walk with God, as they seek to work out their faith in the world today.
TCBC started in 1977 as a result of a united churches outreach under the leadership of Rev David Watson. The vision of the founders was to establish a Christian witness on Tonbridge high street and provide resource for the local churches. This vision was embraced by the current owners Norman and Mavis Nibloe who have developed the ministry since 1981.
Norman was Chairman of The Christian Booksellers Convention for nine years and is now responsible for the organisation of the event. CBC is an International Convention held annually in the UK for all Christian Retailers, Publishers and Suppliers to gather, with delegates from overseas, to share experience and encourage each other in the distribution of Christian material world-wide.
Benefitting from Norman's vision and unique experience, TCBC has become a significant group of independant Christian bookshops, with six branches serving Kent and Sussex and through the web-site customers world-wide.
TCBC are also responsible for providing bookstalls at major annual Christian events such as Detling Bible week.
